Simple, Everyday Idea #4: Door Bumper

I am sharing some of the simple, daily things I do at home as a Mom that come from my occupational therapy background.

#4 Bumper on the door

pool noddle door bumperThis idea is much more for a parent’s sanity, than to teach any particular skill to children.  I am a huge fan of picking my battles.  If I find I am nagging about a certain behavior (like slamming doors or closing your little sister into the bedroom), I try to find a way to prevent the behavior.  In this case, a cut pool noodle was a simple and easy solution.  No more slamming, no closing doors on little sister, no pinched fingers.  Just place it high enough so it is out of reach, and no more nagging.
